All forms of impaired vision between +25.0 dpt. and – 40.0 dpt. can be treated with the help of lenses operatively implanted in your eye.
Whether or not your own lens is removed—such as in a cataract surgery—or an additional lens is implanted in the eye is determined based upon the results of extensive examination.
If your own lens is removed in the case of cataract symptoms, special lenses can be implanted so that you will require neither distance nor reading glasses after this operation. In some cases, so-called bioptic procedures are required for this treatment, in which a combination of lenses and laser surgery is used.
A lens implant can thus be used as a single procedure, as an alternative to laser treatment or in a combination with laser treatment. This risk posed by such an operation is low, as the possible complications can be easily be controlled.

Dr. Mark Tomalla has acquired all certifications for lens implantation and offers all operative procedures.
